Karnataka is one of the largest states of India. It is situated in the South-West of India. Karnataka state was formally known as State of Mysore which was created on the 1st November 1956. The capital city of Karnataka is Bangalore. It is surrounded by the Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh state border. Karnataka is home of various medical colleges such as Bangalore Medical College and Research Centre, St John’s Medical College, etc. As per 2011 census, the overall literacy rate of Karnataka is 75.60%.

2. St John’s Medical College, Bangalore-

 

St John’s Medical College, Bangalore was started on 1963 by St John’s, the catholic Bishop’s Conference of India. The college offers various UG, PG, diploma and super specialty degrees recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka. The medical college has the approval from Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi.

 

3. Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli-

 

Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli was established in August, 1957. The former name of the college is Karnataka Medical College, Hubli. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. The institution has the affiliation with many hospitals which are used as the teaching hospitals for the college.

4. MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, Bangalore-

 

MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and was established in the year 2001. The institution offers a variety of undergraduate courses in nursing, medicine and related areas and offers postgraduate courses in all the basic and clinical super-specialties. The institution is approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

5. M S Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore

M S Ramaiah Medical College was established in the year of 1979 under the aegis of Gokula Education Foundation (GEF). This college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and has an approval of Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi.

JSS Medical College is a constituent college of JSS University and it was established in the year of 1984.
